Three common types of seamless stainless steel pipes

Stainless steel seamless pipe is widely used in petroleum, chemical, nuclear power, thermal power generation, non-ferrous metal smelting, shipbuilding, food processing and other industries.

Usually, stainless steel pipes are divided into two categories: welded pipes and seamless pipes. From the point of view of seam joints, seamless stainless steel pipes are more robust and reliable than welded pipes. Therefore, seamless stainless steel pipes are widely used in corrosive media, high temperature and high-pressure environments and other harsh environments.

The following three steel series are used in the production of seamless stainless steel pipes: austenitic stainless steel, ferritic stainless steel and martensitic stainless steel.

Austenitic stainless steel: Contains 16-25% chromium, 6-14% nickel, occasionally 2-6% molybdenum and a small number of other elements. The consumption of austenitic stainless steel accounts for 60-70 of the total consumption of stainless steel. %.

Ferritic stainless steel: Contains 15-20% chromium. Some steel grades of this series also contain titanium and molybdenum. The characteristics of ferritic seamless stainless steel are lower than that of austenitic steel, but the price is lower.

Martensitic stainless steel: The corrosion resistance of this kind of steel pipe is not as good as the above two types of steel, but the steel of this kind of steel is stronger and stronger.
